Dawn Zuber, FAIA

Principal Architect & Rockstar

Aside from her illustrious 30-year career as an architect, Dawn is literally a rock star! She was the lead singer for the cover band Bitter Regrets for five years. There aren’t many nationally-recognized architects brave enough to belt out a tune in front of a raucous room of raving rock fans.

But that fearlessness is exactly why you want Dawn to champion your vision. When it comes to getting results for her clients, Dawn won’t back down.

Fearless on stage and off…

Dawn is ready to rock your project!

In fact, since founding Studio Z in 1997, Dawn has worked with more than 100 clients to design and deliver their dream homes. Many clients love her so much that they return years later wanting her help with new projects.

If you are wondering where you have seen or heard of this wonder woman before, it was probably on national TV. In 2015, Dawn was hired by Scripps Networks to reimagine a home in Ann Arbor’s historic Water Hill neighborhood. Dawn’s vision resulted in an extensive remodel and the home became the grand prize for HGTV’s Urban Oasis® sweepstakes giveaway in October 2016.

While Dawn’s talent is recognized by her many happy clients, it shouldn’t surprise you that she is also highly respected by her peers.

In 2018, Dawn was recognized by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) for her work and contributions to architecture and society by being named a Fellow of the AIA (FAIA). Only 3% of AIA architects nationwide are recognized as Fellows, and it’s a true testament to Dawn’s hard work, dedication, and talent that she is included in this small circle of exceptional architects.

When she is not making her clients smile with joy, Dawn enjoys reading, making jewelry, laughing out loud, and hanging out with her Siamese cat (but not usually all at the same time). She’s also a hoot at client housewarming parties, especially if there is a karaoke machine in the room!
