Dayna Tooman

Designer & Chameleon

When she's not working with our clients to design their dream homes and spaces, Dayna is Studio Z’s resident chameleon. She is always ready to take on the next task, whether it be architectural drawings, interior design, or helping with marketing. Seems like we don’t get through a week without her telling some outrageous (and outrageously funny) story over the water cooler and making people laugh.

Aside from her quirky sense of humor and adaptability, Dayna is an interior design genius. She truly enjoys the opportunity to help our clients reimagine their homes for their current lifestyles to make each space work for them and not against them.

Since Dayna was young, she's always loved the beauty of architecture and design. She played "The Sims" for hours, creating and designing extravagant houses - but never actually running the simulation. It just clicked for her. Dayna enrolled in Eastern Michigan University to study interior design, and from her first design class, she was hooked. After completing her bachelor’s degree and working for a construction material supplier for 2.5 years, she joined Studio Z Architecture in 2017 and quickly fell in love with real-life residential architecture and design.

If you asked, she would say her personal style is mid-century modern, but she likes many aesthetic styles and draws inspiration from a little bit of everything. Dayna is not afraid of a challenge and makes it her goal to guide and help clients craft and create the spaces and aesthetics they've always dreamed of. She believes design isn't just a look but a lifestyle that is completely "you.”

Dayna is fascinated by how our living spaces affect us. It's incredibly rewarding to her when she can eliminate the pain points of our clients' day-to-day lives and create spaces that become their sanctuary. She understands how overwhelming the process can be for those who haven't built or remodeled before, so she takes extra care to advocate for their needs and guide them through the process.

When she's not working to make clients' homes beautiful, Dayna loves reading, spending time with family, laughing until she cries, road trips, gaming with her awesome son, and making French macarons - just not all at the same time.
